  1. Includes ShtetlSeeker which is a soundexed system of locating many villages throughout Europe. Very useful if you're not sure of exact spellings of your village. Gives latitude and longitude locations.

  3. Where We Once Walked - book by Gary Mokotoff and Sallyann Amdur Sack. Book published by Avoaynu, Inc. 1991. Lists some 22,000 towns in central and eastern Europe where Jews lived before the Holocaust. Includes 15,000 additional alternate names for these towns. Soundex for all 35,000 names assists user in determining correct spelling of town name being searched. Information on villages within Galicia (and elsewhere) can also be found online from site: look under ShtetlSeeker. This device gives you the same information and is probably more updated.The ShtetlSeeker on the Jewish website works for non-Jewish villages as well.
